From the March, 1924 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
The death of engineer Dennis Woods occurred at his home in Buffalo. He suffered a short illness, dying of pneumonia. He entered the service as brakeman, later becoming a fireman. In 1890 he was promoted to engineer. Mr. Woods was a popular man and is missed by the road and shopmen.
