New York Division engineer E.I. Earle of Port Jervis was retired recently and placed on the special allowance payroll at the age of 70 after 49 years, 9 months of service.

From the June, 1937 issue of Erie Magazine:
Edward I. Earle, 71, retired New York Division engineer of 49 years and 9 months continuous service, died at his home, 64 1/2 Sussex Street, Port Jervis, April 22nd (1937). He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Earle.
