FRED J. FOSTER
Fred J. "Fritz" Foster was employed as Chief Clerk to the Division Car Foreman in the Car Department of the Chicago Division, located at Chicago. The photos on this page are courtesy of his son, John Foster, and some of his comments are included below.

The above photo of Fred Foster was taken in 1949 in his office at Chicago. Mr. Foster worked for the Erie from 1922 until his death on Sept. 11, 1955.

Fred Foster's Erie Railroad Employee Identification Card. The signature below Mr. Foster's is that of T.M. Bomersback, who was the Division Car Foreman, located for most of his career in Hammond, IN.

Erie Men, Chicago Div. Car Office

John Foster says, "The men in the above photo could be any of the following, all who signed my dad's funeral guest book which I have. The Erie car shop is listed and the B. of R.C. Victory Lodge 547 (union?) also as giving floral remembrances: Harry Furmanski, Roger Beadleston, Richard Craig, Frank Muehlnickel, Edward Ryan, Bernard Zurn, Virgil Dinius, Carl Sanure?, and M J Stelzer are all signed as Erie employees."
