Erie Railroad Biography - Homer Bennett

Engineer Homer Bennett is off duty for a short time. Edward Thornton is running in his place.




From the August 18, 1913 issue of the Marion Daily Star:
Erie train No. 3 made a remarkable run from this city to Huntington, Monday (August 17, 1913). The train left here twenty-five minutes late, arriving at Huntington on time. The distance is 128 miles and was made in 145 minutes, five stops averaging three minutes each, being included in the time. Engineer Bennett was at the throttle of Atlantic type engine No. 521, which pulled the train.
