Erie Railroad Biography - Harry L. Adams

From the December, 1913 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine
TRAINMASTER H.L. ADAMS.
The subject of this month's sketch is Harry L. Adams, Trainmaster of the Chicago Division of the C. & E. He is one of those fellows that never go to roost with the poultry and is just as happy while out on the new work any old hour, as when in his office, and feels very much more at home. Outside of railroad life, Harry finds recreation in attending Masonic Lodges, he being a member of that fraternity.

Following is his record, as furnished by himself and modestly chosen:

Born in Columbus, Ohio; entered service of Erie Railroad, September, 1897, as boilermaker helper, Chicago Round House. Employed as brakeman, Chicago Division, November, 1898; promoted to Conductor, February, 1904; made Trainmaster, Chicago Division, January, 1913.
