Born at Edinburgh, Scotland, June 24, 1851. Age 44 years, married, residence Glenwood, IL. Formerly with Grand Trunk for 4 1/2 years as conductor, then with C&WM for 2 years as conductor. Enters C&E service as brakeman, Sept. 4, 1891.

Promoted to freight conductor November 5th, 1899.
