From the June, 1911 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Oscar Falconia Bucken, for 34 years deckhand on the ferryboats of this company, was taken suddenly sick while on duty, and passed away while his boat was making the trip to New York.
Mr. Bucken was born in New York city, November 6th, 1844, entering the service of the Pavonia Ferry Co. June 2d, 1877. He was of a genial disposition, faithful and reliable, and will be missed by his fellow mates.
