Erie Railroad Biography - Selah H. Ferguson



From the November, 1929 issue of Erie Magazine:
Mrs. Augusta W. Ferguson, wife of Selah H. Ferguson, Erie Railroad engineer of Port Jervis, NY, has died, aged 71 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; of Orange Chapter, No. 33, Order of the Eastern Star; Golden Rod Division No. 66, G.I.A. to the BLE; and Easter Lilly Lodge No. 59, L.S.B.L.F.E. Besides her husband, Mrs. Ferguson leaves two sons, Charles of Elmira, and Edward of Addison; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Fordyce of Susquehanna, Mrs. Bertha Diamond of Kingston, Mrs. Frances Booth of East Rutherford, and Mrs. Georgia White of Addison; three brothers, Herman Zoch of Graham, William and Frank of Godefroy; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Malone of Middletown, and Mrs. Ada Carpenter of Cuddebackville; and by several grandchildren and one great grandson.




From the March, 1941 issue of Erie Magazine:
Selah H. Ferguson, 84, retired engineer, died Feb. 7 (1941) at the home of his son, Edward Ferguson, at Avoca, NY. Surviving him are four daughters: Mrs. George Fordyce of Susquehanna, Mrs. D.P. Diamond of Middletown, Mrs. Kenneth Booth of Allendale, NJ, and Mrs. Rawley White of Erwins, NY; and two sons: Edward F. Ferguson of Avoca, and CHarles Ferguson, of Bath. There are also 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
