The New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad was controlled by the Erie from 1898 to 1940. Many NYS&W employees can be found in the master Erie employee index as the NYS&W was included in the pages of employee news, retirements and obituaries. When the Erie divested itself of the Susquehanna, some Susquehanna employees went with the Erie, and some Erie employees went with the Susquehanna.
