James  S. Spradlin

I James S. Spradlin of the Town of Denver in the County of Johnson and State of Ky of the age of 79 Seventy nine years oldbeing of sound and disposing mind and memory do make public and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say:

First - I give and bequeath to my son Hamilton S. Spradlin the following described Real Estate to with: Beginning on a cliff ?  H. S. Spradlin born on the old line between James S. Spradlin & H.S. Spradlin, thence with said line to the branch, thence upthe branch to a ?, thence a ? ? and with the line of Doc Baldwin and wife to top of the hill, thence down the ridge to the line of H.S. Spradlin, thence with said line to the beginning. Said H.S. Spradlin is to pay $12.50 twelve Dollars and fifty cents to Rachel Adams, Martha Salyer and Harvey Spradlin ? divided equally - divided in thirds.

Second - I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ellen Hitchcock the following Real Estate. Beginning on a small ? ? standing near the branch on the left hand going up the creek about 20 yards above the spring near the County road, thence ?  the bottom to sway in the hill running up the hill with the sway to the top of the point to a small maple, thence with the top of the point to the line of Dan M. Spradlin, thence with said line to Doc Baldwin line, thence with Baldwin line to the branch, thence said line to the Main branch, thence up the branch to appointed beginning. Said Mary Ellen Hitchcock is to pay to Rachel Adams, Martha Salyer and Harvey Spradlin ? the sum of $40 to be equally divided in thirds.

Third - I will and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Caudill the following described Real Estate. Beginning on lower end of Rockhouse near the Co. road above the mouth of Lick Branch running straight line across the road and branch to the mouth of small ? thence crossing the bottom and with the ? to foot of the hill thence up the ? to a black walnut near head of the ? thence a straight line to the black oak on Mary Ellen Hitchcock's line, thence down the point ? her line to the branch thence up the branch to opposite the beginning thence to beginning. Said Elizabeth Caudill is to pay to Rachel Adams, Martha Salyer and Harvey Spradlin the sum of $12.50 twelve dollars and fifty cents to be equally divided in thirds.

Fourth - I will and bequeath to my son Ben F. Spradlin the following described Real Estate beginning on the lower end of Rockhouse the corner of Elizabeth Caudill, thence with said Elizabeth Caudill's line to M.E. Hitchcock's line ? her line to ? Adams line, thence with his line to Twin Branch down said branch to opposite the beginning thence to the beginning said B.F.

Spradlin to pay to Rachel Adams, Martha Salyer and Harvey Spradlin…..
