Jeremiah Standridge was married three times. First he married Nancy Cagle. Second he married the widow of Lewis Meek, Telitha Jones Meek. She was also his first cousin, daughter of John Jones and Alafair Meek. Third he chose a mail order bride, Rhoda Harris. The order seemed to work well. They were married until he died in 1917. They had 8 children together. Rhoda had been married twice before also. The three girls in the photo were born in 1893, 1894 and 1900. Jerry and Rhoda Standridge moved from Richland to Van Buren County, AR.
Jerry enlisted in Company C.1st. Arkansas Infantry Volunteers, Union At Fayetteville, Arkansas, on February 12, 1863, and he was discharged on August 10, 1865, at Ft. Smith Arkansas. He was six feet , three inches tall with gray eyes, hair was dark and his complexion was dark.
