With his 3rd wife, "Little Mary"
Virgil Standridge's third marriage was to Grace "Gracie" Horton born 1914. Gracie was his Great Niece. The Grand Daughter of his half sister Nancy Isabel Standridge. There were no children from this marriage. Gracie was the daughter of Dora Arizona Smith and Guy Horton. Gracie was always known to the family as "Little Mary".
Vigil was born in 1882 in Newton Co. AR. He is the son of Jeremiah Standrige and Telitha Ann Jones. She was the daughter of John Jones and Alafair Meek. She was married first to Lewis Meek who was shot and killed at the Meek Mill on Richland Creek by his brother in law, Alex "Coon" Ross. Coon married Rhoda Meek, Lewis' sister. Coon had ownership of the Mill and it is believed that this is what caused the friction between Ross and Richard and Lewis Meek. Coon killed both men. I (Betty Renfroe) believe this is the reason that Jeremiah decided to move to Idaho in the 1880s. He was disheartened with the fueding on Richland.
