!Although Judith is frequently cited as being the daughter of John Winslow's second wife, Judith, The volume "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations", VOL II, edited by Robert M. Sherman, on Chilton , More, Rogers, contends otherwise: "*The Mayflower Society has accepted lineages through a purported daughter Judith. No evidence has been found to substantiate this claim of a daughter Judith born to John and Judith Winslow, as reported in FAMS OF PILGRIMS and in COL. FAMS OF AMERICA 1:56; nor has the Judith Winslow who married Taunton 1688 John Packer been identified." It is further interesting to note that John, son of this John, refers in a will to his mother Judith, which seems somewhat odd, if indeed, Elizabeth was his mother. However in none of John the fau's captured documents does he mention any children other than this John, nor does son John refer to any other siblings. In Temple's History of North Brookfield, P. 78, he lists a dau. Judith (no birth date) of Samuel (3) son of Kenelm(2) (1) and third wife, Ruth Briggs: Other children listed were Mary Elizabeth; Ann Thomas; Kenelm, b. Rocherster, Feb. 2 1712-13; and the above Judith, who if born this late, would note be appropriate as a possible Judith. . See above: It is interesting to note that Jael Packard (John's sister) marries a John Smith in 1672 in Taunton, as does, Elizabeth, another sister, who married Thomas Alger. She is, according to suggested birth and marriage date, only 16 when married , whereas John is in his mid-30's. Savage, in writing of Elizabeth's marriage, suggests that she was prob. married in Taunton as Bridgewater at that time had no authority to perform legal marriages--perhaps true for the other brothers and sisters, as well.. !DEATH: !BURIAL: Bowling, Alice Christine, The Ancestors and Family of John Lawson Packard. ! Rec fr Anthony Miller (PHSN96A)
! (FP) SOURCE: Rec from Cheryl Edwards (XGNK74A) From the American Genealogist July 1983, page 166, 167. Adam was born in Plymouth about 1645, and died in Plympton on 20 Sep 1724 in his 79th or 80th year (Plympton VR p. 534). He married (1st) before 1680 Sarah SOULE, daughter of John Soule and his first wife Rebecca SIMMONS, and granddaughter of Pilgrim George Soule of the MAYFLOWER. The settlement on 5 Mar 1707 of the estate of John Soule of Duxborough (Duxbury) mentions that Sarah had only one cow of her father in his lifetime, and that Adam Wright in behalf of his children which he had by the said Sarah, his wife deceased, was to receive money "And that the children of the said Sarah shall have the lot of the last division of upland in the sixteen shilling Purchase and the share of Cedar Swamp at Assonet Cedar Swamp" (MD 4:160-1). Sarah was living on 16 Mar 1690/1 when Richard Wright, Adam Wright his son, and Sarah wife of Adam acknowledge a deed (MD 11:244). George E Bowman proved that Adam and Sarah had six children, from a consideration of deeds disposing of the land they received from JohnSoule's estate (MD 11:246-7)
! Before 1699 Adam Wright married (2nd) Mehitable BARROW, daughter of Robert and Ruth (BONUM) BARROW. On 20 Jun 1717 Adam Wright of "Plimton" and Mehitable, his wife sold their part of the estate of "our Hond. Father Robert Barrow late of Plymth. deceasd." (MD 11:244-5). Mehitable was living on 28 Dec 1720, when she surrendered her dower rights, as wife of Adam Wright, to his gift of land in Plimton, dated 13 Dec 1709, to his son Isaac (Plymouth Co. LR 13:120).
! Adam Wright was called blacksmith of Plymouth in 1699 and 1701, when he was sued for debt (Plymouth [Co] CT Rec 1686-1859 ed. by David Thomas Konig [1978], hereafter Plym Ct Rec 1:230, 256). The will of Adam Wright of Plympton, dated 9 Apr 1723, probated 2 Nov 1724, names sons John Wright, Isaac Wright, Samuel Wright, and Moses Wright; grandchildren Joshua Pratt and Sarah his sister, children of daughter Esther Pratt; daughter Sarah Fuller, wife of Seth Fuller; sons James Wright and Nathan Wright; daughter Mary Gifford, wife of Jeremiah Gifford; daughter Rachel Barlow, wife of Ebenezer Barlow; and wife Mehitable Wright (MD 4:239-40). No record is found of the birth of any of Adam's children, nor of his marriages, so dates given are approximations. (Further information regarding Adam's family will be found in MD 11:242-7)
! On 13 Jul 1691, Ephraim Tinkham and wife Esther of Middleboro and Mary Price of Plymouth sold to their brother Adam Wright of Plymouth their share of the housing and lands left to them by their father Richard Wright, however, Mary reserved the right to live in the houlse (Plymouth Co LR 7:65)

Since no children were mentioned in his will, it is very possible that there was none. It is not understood if the unborn child mentioned in the will was his wife's or his Aunt Sarah's. If his wife's, then there is that possibility of one child.
