is still alive with Thomas Cottrail,Sr.
Also the following Children and Grandchildren are living
down the same road are:
Thomas Cottrail,Jr and wife Polly nickname for Mary P.
Parsons Cottrail/Cottrill.
Andrew Jackson Cottrail is listed as Jackson Cottrail with
wife Fair Elgentine Jarvis
and one child daughter.
Notes for THOMAS HARRISON COTTRELL, SR****:
Thomas Cottrell/Cottrill/Cottrail Built first log cabin in
1778 in Harrison County,WVA and bought
300 acres of land.(He had to be of age to buy land, right?)
!!!!!!
From Hardesty's History Books for West Virginia.
Thomas Cottrell also built first saw mill mill in 1780,and
Donated land for first school house
in the state !!!
I have his application for Revoluntary War Pension. He received his pension for several
years before the Congress stared using excuses to cut
their Indian scouts and frontier people
out of their pensions.
It is recorded in
the "American History" from the 1950's about the people from the
outskirts
of Ohio,West Virginia and Pennsylvania being cheated out
of their money with any flimsy excuses, becaise they wanted to keep the money
for their regular soldiers who fought on
the East Coast.
In fact the
prosecutor for the Government was fired for making up lies and
presecuting the people for receiving and for filing for
pensions as being faked !!!
And they could use
the excess money left over for their own projects until the American
people put up a loud outcry about their soldiers being
cheated !!!!!!!
" And they wanted to get re-elected again !!!
" of course.
But by the time the bill was made void a lot of the scouts
and old timers had passed away.
Thomas Cottrell was born in January 22,1762,in Fayette
County at George's Creek,Pennsylvania.
If Thomas Cottrell built a log cabin in 1778,and built a
saw mill 2 years later in 1780 and it was
recorded and bought 300 hundred acres of land,he had to be
of age to buy land, and he had to
be a man Capable of building a saw mill and a log
cabin.
If he was born in
1770,and Thomas would have been only 8
years old and 10 years when
they were built.!!!!!!
Were is "Common Sense" being used !!!!!! Would
a small boy be able to do any of this
kind
of work !!!!!!
Why would he have had a saw mill for over 80 yrs. in his
family !!!!! and ran it the whole time.
He had to certainly had to have some special abilities to
do all the different kinds of things,
he was supposed to have done.
