2.  WILLIAM² SHATTUCK**** (SAMUEL WILLIAM¹) was born May 03, 1628 in Boston, Massachusetts, and died Aft. 1700 in Burlington, New Jersey   (is witness on Wills for Lippencotts and admomistrator on some of the).  He married SUSANNAH HANNAH ? HAYDEN.  She was born 1634 in Boston, MA ??.

William Shattuck lived in Boston, Mass. from 1650-1658.

Information from Memorial of Descendants of William Shattuck, by Lemuel Shattuck pages 366 & 367.

Our William Shattuck was a Shoemaker, and suffered persecution for his Quakerism.

He was banished in 1658, He moved to Rhode Island, then to New Jersey, settling at Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.

He had two daughters,but had  no male issue.

 

By his daughter Hannah m. Restore Lippincott then their daughter Rebecca Lippincott m. Josiah Gaskill they are all the ancestors to President Richard M. Nixon.

Notes for JAMES SHINN*:

The First 230 Quakers to come to America  came over on the ship Kent", from London,England.

Half of the Quakers were from Yorkshire,England and the other half were from London,England

They were the early settlers in New Jersey.

James Sinn representing the second generation was born in England,and lived longer than

his brothers and sisters.

He married Abigail Lippencott in 1697.

Their son Clement Shinn appears  as a witness upon several marriage aplications.

His wife Elizabeth Webb was not a Quaker.

It's possible that John Stephens' parents could be Thomas Stephens & Mary Unknown of

 Freehold,New Jersey could be his parents.

Thomas Stephens and his wife Mary had three children baptised on August 3,1735:

 the three children are John,Mary,and Thomas.   This entry is from the "Episcopal" Churches

 in New Jersey.

Thomas is believed to be the son of Captain Nicholas Stephens/Stevens and his wife,

Elizabeth Unknown,who died in 1760/63 in New Jersey..
