Aaron Strain was born in 1846 in Illinois.  He married Nancy Teeple in 1867 in Decatur, Macon County, IL.   Aaron was a farmer, and they lived in Illinois and Iowa.  At one point there may have been a separation between Aaron and Nancy, because he lived in Kansas and she lived in Iowa in 1900.  Aaron and Nancy were the parents of six children:  Ivery Ann, James J., Peter D., John A., Gertrude C., and Jesse F. Strain.
