Henry Perkyns, Proved mother's will, 15 October, 1538. Will of Henry Perkyns of the parish of Hillmorton was proved 16 June, 1546, but it is now missing."; "1546 Henry Perkyns of the parish of Hillmorton. His will is missing. Henry Perkyns, eldest son, 1588; executor of father's will and proved same, 11 May, 1592; appraiser of the estate of Wm. Kebble, 1601; overseer of brother John's will, 1602; also of the will of Elizabeth Pirkins, 1603. Died, 1608-9. Administration upon the estate of Henry Pirkins of Hillmorton, was granted to son Thomas, 5 April, 1609."; "1609 Henry Pirkins of Hillmorton. Letters of administration upon his estate were granted at Lichfield, 5 April, 1609, to Thomas Perkins the son. A bond was given for the tuition of: Margaret, Edward, Anne, Sarah, Francis, William, Lucy, Elizabeth and James Pirkins, 'the other children'. MIGRATION: 1631 on first trip of the Lyon, FIRST RESIDENCE: Boston, REMOVES: Ipswich 1633, CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: 'John Perkins and Judith his wife' were admitted to Boston church as members #107 and #108 (this would be in early 1631) [BChR 14]. FREEMAN: 18 May 1631 [MBCR 1:366]. EDUCATION: He made his mark to his will. OFFICES: Deputy to General Court for Ipswich, 25 May 1636 [MBCR 1:174]. The parish records of Hilmorton, Warwickshire contain the records of John Perkins' baptism, marriage and the births of his six children. ... John Perkins was born in Hilmorton, Warwickshire or Newent, Gloucestershire in 1590. He married Judith Gater, born about 1588, daughter of Michael Gater, on October 9, 1608 at Hilmorton, Warwickshire. He died in Ipswich, Massachusetts in 1654 ... At Bristol, they embarked on the Lyon or Lyon of Bristow, 250 tons ... This ship arrived in Nantasket, Massachusetts on February 5, 1631, having sailed from Bristol, England on December 1, 1630 ... For about two years after their arrival, the family of John Perkins remained in Boston, where their last child, Lydia, was born, her baptism being recorded upon the parish books of the First Church in Boston, June 3, 1632 ... In his will which was dated 3 April, 1528, and proved 21 April, of that year, he directs that he shall be buried in the parish church of St. John Baptist, in Hillmorton; refers to lands and tenements in Hillmorton and Lilborne; and mentions: Thomas Clerke and Alys 'my wife', executors; Henry 'my son', Jone & Jelyan, 'my daughters'. Mentions in his will 'my brother Kebbler's wife' and William Perkyns 'my brother'; [married] Alice (Kebble or Kebbell?) Living 17 December, 1601. Perhaps a sister to Willyam Kebbell."; p. 6, "1592 Thomas Perkyns the elder of Hillmorton, Husbandman.
