- When August Wenk was baptised in 1866, August's father was unamed. On the passport applications of 1921 and 1923, his father's name was given as August. But in 1958 the information on his death certificate, which came from his daughter Hildagarde, names his father as Henry Wilhelm. It should be noted that Henry Wilhelm was August's maternal grandfather's name, which may have been remembered by Hildagarde, and August may have misinterpreted the passport application question and inserted his own name as "father".

- When Marie Wenk had her son August baptised in 1866, August's father was unamed. On the passport applications of 1921 and 1923, his father's name was given as August. But in 1958 the information on his death certificate, which came from his daughter Hildagarde, names his father as Henry Wilhelm. It should be noted that Henry Wilhelm was Marie's father's name, which may have been remembered by Hildagarde, and August may have misinterpreted the passport application question and inserted his own name as "father".
