Why not take a "mini cruise" on the Tancook Island Ferry from
Chester to Big Tancook Island.
One of Nova Scotia's best kept secrets is Big Tancook Island with its wealth of artistic creativity.
We invite you to visit our shop to sample the fruits of islanders' labour. Most of our hand created items are made on the Island.
You can also find pieces of furniture and other fascinating collectables. Chances are you will find someone making a "Suttle
Mat", stitching a quilt, forming a "soft picture", stitching a tapestry, painting an Island scene, weaving on a loom or caning a chair.
To find us, turn left, up the hill from the ferry wharf. Enjoy the views of the Mahone Bay islands while you walk the 1/4 km to
"POPPLEROCK". As you walk along the roads the fragrance of salt water and wild roses fills the air.
Don't worry about carrying your larger purchases around with you as you further explore the Island. We will be happy to deliver them to you at the ferry in time for your return journey.
Soft drinks and snack foods are also available and sometimes we will have fresh garden produce when in season.
