Taskers in Scotland
Of more than 1,500 Scottish Taskers listed on the IGI, there are only two families listed before 1600 and they were located just a few miles from each other, near the coast in the county of Fife.
Margaret Tasker was born about 1556 in Dunfermline, Fife, and went on to marry James Hutton.
Along the coast at the little port of Dysart, Nannes Taskar (spelling!) was christened on 26 July 1584 with her father listed as David Taskar.
More Taskers moved north into Scotland over the years, including William Tasker, born 1838 in Airlie, Forfarshire, father of John Tasker, who married Mary Campbell and had 6 children in Meigle, Perthshire (listed on the Genes Reunited website).
