It is with Coonrod Teetor (Conrad Teeter) who was born about 1715 who died Aug 30, 1771 Knowlton NJ Sussex Co; Will at Trenton NJ (as likely son of Henry (Diedrich/Dieter) from lower east Germany) that certain of our heritage is ascertained. Conradt Teetor (sp) married Maria Catharine (d/o Jacob and Cecilia Reichard Weber) who later remarried Jacob Rice (with possibility of his son, a Jacob Rice marrying a Zaruah lnu). It is said Maria C Teeter Rice died in 1782. Have found a Jacob and Catherine Rice, per 1727.

Conrad was a Revolutionary soldier as well as his brothers, Henry, Jacob, Peter, Michael, and Elias. I am descendant of Henry as son of Conrad (subject).

Conrad sold his tavern 1828 in Teetertown (Lansingville NY); 1827 Conrad Teeter bought 50 acres Lot 73 Town of Enfield NY (m-pg 537) and in 1832 bought 32 acres Lot 71 (u-pg 371, same town). Conrad Teeter of Wilkesbarre, in Luzerne Co PA, as stagecoach driver. Conrad and Christine came to "Lake County" between 1795 and 1800 settling in NYS. Mr. Teeter built houses per 1804-7 downtown Ithaca NY on E State Street then called Main Street (114-118 E State). He sold out as he had stagecoach business and route of eastern NY unto PA and moved about also buying lands from a Mr Lyons in 1807 and finally settling down in Enfield NY where he died in 1840. He was a well-known personality who spoke German and English weighing over 300 pounds. He said farming was not for him; and the farms he passed by on his overland mail trails were "his" as he certainly passed enough of them and they were enough for him. Conrad's wife, Christine Keller came from a religious family and there are church records in NJ reflecting such along with births and baptisms. Conrad started out with one horse and a mail pouch flung over his back and finally owned his stagecoach business having 4 beautiful and loyal horses. He is mentioned as just once having been scolded when the weather was so severe that mail was delayed for a few days. He was in business with his brother-in-law Miller Horton and Solomon Hyatt as well as Oliver Phelps to whom he sold (the latter) business to in 1826. Mary Phelps (Oliver) d Ontario Canadaigua NY 1826. Conrad replaced Mr. Stanton, a well known, old timer.

There is a Teeter homestead at 440 Floral Avenue (still there per 2004); they descendants of Frank and Angeline Doll Teeter. My grandparents lived 1036 W Seneca Street from 1935 until gram's demise in 1976.

Frank Teeter relocated from Ithaca NY 1894 to Enfield NY and was manager and proprietor of the tavern there. Also listed per records for Frank and Mary Etta Rumsey Teeter as kin are: Charles F (little Charlie d young), Seth H, Lena L, and Susan Eliza. Also buried Hayts Frear Cem: S Lida bd nr Potter and Bell. My grandparents, Wm H and Anna L White along with my uncles and father and other kin are buried there. FYI: This (subject) Andrew Teeter is the son of Peter/Lee of Peter/Rice of Coonrad/Weber.

Abeah is kin to Angleburt and Christina Ownes Hartsouph, Anning Owens and perhaps Jacob and Anna Maria Hartsrsaupkt 1777-1845. Andrew Teeter 2ndly married Caroline Sinsabaugh Roat, a widow 3/10/1819-1/12/1894. Andrew and "Abbie" J Hartseif Teeter had: Peter S 1823-29 and John L 1836; *George Teeter 1822-1905 md Caroline Grover 1824-c1898 d/o Abel H Grover and Sarah P Gray (Sarah b NY with father from CT); Frank md Emma Hern; Andrew H Teeter Jr 1819-93 md ?Catherine Slifer/Seifert d/o Eli; Sarah Teeter c 1825 md Orrin McDaniels (have census data for McDaniels); and Mary Ann c 1838-1905 md William Hine 1827-1905. Children of Andrew and 2nd wife, Caroline Roat Sinsabaugh are: Antoinette (Maria) c1848 or 1850 per 1870 census md David Sinsapaugh, Job Hine, Isaac VanOstrand, and Joseph Shaw; Carrie Teeter b 9/26/1851 vs 1862 St George, Ontario, Canada and died 5/1872 having married David Dassance and had ch: Albert A 1875, Forrest 1878, and Frank L 1881. Per census for 1870, Antoinette Teeter is shown age 20 born 1850 along with sisters Carrie 18 born 1862 and a Mary born 1868. Andrew Teeter either married Caroline Roat in 1862 vs 1842 per records found.

Per intestate records of 1872 at Tompkins Co NY, for Sarah Gray Grover for Newfield NY, who died Oct 25, 1872, with probate Jan 14, 1873: Caroline Teeter, daughter as wife of George Teeter, is listed among others as heirs (my line). Sarah Gray Grover was the widow of Abel H Grover. Other heirs of Sarah Gray Grover were: daughter Sarah Grover Teeter (wife of George Keller Teeter, of VanEtten NY (he Uncle to my George and Caroline and he also brother to Andrew who was the father of my George), daughter Emma J Tompkins of New field NY, daughter Delia Marion of Ithaca NY, and sons, David Grover of Enfield NY, Nelson Grover of Ithaca NY, Samuel Grover, Alpheus Grover, and Peter Grover, all of Ithaca NY. Petitioner was Anson Grover (b 1831) of Newfield NY. Said records can be found on Tompkins Co NY website, to include George Teeter, Charles Grover, etc. Also, a Joseph R Dodge md 1857 Mary A Hine of PA (Jacob). An Abigail Jane Teeter 1839-1902 as wife of ?.

In 1900 my ancestral grampa George Teeter is living with his son, Putman and wife, Alice (VanAtta) Teeter in Newfield NY and died in 1905.
