I have not visited this site but have identified a few of the persons recorded on the survey. Of these, John Chadwell, was one of the first settlers in Cooke County. Because at least one neighbor, J.B. Reagan, is also buried there, I will mention that other neighbors were the Barton, Barnes, Hedrick, Bailey, Davis, and McKee families as well as H?J. Coursey, who apparently lost three members of his family in 1880.
This abandoned cemetery, also known as Wheelock, is located south of Gainesville on private property. In 1978, when last surveyed, there was only one stone left standing. The others were broken and piled in a heap. It was unfenced and in the middle of a meadow with many sunken gravesites.

note: In "The First 100 Years in Cooke County", Smith's book, he writes: 'Jim Chadwell was the first white child born in Cooke County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chadwell, who lived one and one-half miles southwest of Woodbine. The birth occurred in 1851.' They were Family # 151 on the 1880 census.

Tenn. His wife was listed as M. H; their children were

note: I believe this was the daughter of John Chadwell
who had an unmarried Eliza, correct age, on the 1880 census.
