[7] CROUCH CEMETERY - Daysville, Todd County Kentucky

Location: About 1.2 mile from US 68, on the Daysville-Allensville road in Todd County, Ky. The dates listed as "Recorded As" are as transcribed by someone attempting to transcribe the dates off of cemetery headstones. The engraving is in a flowing script style where the three's look like eights and the downward slant and return legs on the fours are almost invisible due to age. In the early 1980's I visited the Crouch Cemetery at Daysville. The headstone at that time was extremely hard to read.  Unless you had knowledge from other sources it was easy to assume the headstone had dates different than what it actually has. The "Revised Dates" listed in parenthesis are the correct birth and death dates of the listed individuals. In looking at the first transcription for Richard Crouch he bought land after 1815 and he married his second wife Martha North in 1828.

[12] These pictures are from a 16 x 20 portraits found in the old Linderman home in Blandville, Ballard County, Kentucky.  It is thought that they are of Richard Crouch and Martha North Crouch as Martha Britt Crouch died younger (age 34) than this portrait appears to be. The Blandville home was owned by Burnham Linderman and Flossie Turner Linderman (daughter of Sue Crouch Turner).  Photos of portraits courtesy of Sue Darnell Ellis, whose mother Wilma grew up in the above referenced house.   A cursory check for portrait painters in Logan, Todd and Christian Counties found one (Thomas James Poindexter) who was married in Christian County, KY in 1828 and whose first two children were also born there in 1830 and 1832.  This time period would coincide with Richard Crouch's marriage to Martha North in 1830.
