Sarah was born at
Greene Co., Indiana, on 21 April 1835. She was the daughter of
James Evan Chesnut and
Nancy Burton. She married
Eli Brazelton at
Sullivan Co., Indiana, on 22 July 1865. Sarah died on 29 March 1905 at
Fredonia, Wilson Co., Kansas, at age 69. From the Wilson County Citizen, Friday March 31, 1905:
Mrs. Sarah Brazelton, wife of Eli Brazelton, died at her home in the south part of Fredonia Tuesday morning of last week, age 70 years, less 16 days. Mrs. Brazelton had risen and was dressing for breakfast. Others in the house noting the noise hastened to her bedroom and found Mrs. B. prostate on the floor and unconscious. She expired without uttering a word or showing sign of pain where Dr. Wiley, who had been called, reached the scene. Heart failure was the cause of death.
The deceased was born in Greene Co., Ind in 1835, and became the wife of Eil Brazelton in 1868. In 1878 they came to Kansas, locating in Wilson Co., and first living in Duck Creek Twp.
Those who sorrow as relatives are an aged husband, who is helpless from blindness and pearlized; two son, J.L. Brazelton of Washington State and W.E. Brazeton of Fallis, Okla., and two daughters, Mrs. Jas. Delandey of Fall River Twp. and Mrs. Cord Eshelemand of Fredonia. The parents have made their home with the latter daughter for many years. The funeral was held from the home Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Chaffee conducted services and interment was mad in the Bachelder cemetery.

Mrs. Eli Brazelton Dead
Mrs. Sarah Chestnut Brazelton, wife of Eli Brazelton, fell dead this morning at 5 o'clock at her home in the southwest part of this city, while starting to arise. Mrs. Brazelton was born in Shelbyville, Ind., April 21, 1835 and was therefore at the time of her death age 69 years, 11 months and 7 days. She was married to Eli Brazelton in July, 1865. About thirty years ago they came to Kansas, most of this ime being spent in Wilson county. An aged husband blind and paralyzed with two sons and two daughters, James Brazelton, in Washington, Ed. Brazelton, in Oklahoma, Mrs. James Delaney, of Fall River township, and Mrs. Cord Esheleman, of this city, the latter with whom the parents made their home, are left to morn the loss of a faithful wife and mother, and many are the friends who sympathize with them in their sorrow.
Funeral services will conducted at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 and interment will be made in the Fredonia cemetery.. Her body was interred in 1905 at
Fredonia, Wilson Co., Kansas, at Bachelder Cemetery.
