John L. Chronister was born circa 1900. He was the son of
John Chronister and
Mary Schuuck. John L. Chronister died on 10 May 1938 at
York Hospital, York, York Co., Pennsylvania. He was New Tag Obituary from a 12 May 1938 York Co., Pennsylvania newspaper:
"John L. Chronister
John L. Chronister, 604 West Princess street, died at the York hospital Tuesday night at 11:47 o'clock. He was 38 years old. Mr. Chronister was admitted to the hospital on Monday, where an immediate operation for appendicitis was performed. Death was caused by peritiontis. The deceased was employed as a cake baker in a local bakery. He was a member of the First United Brethren church, the Vigilant Fire company and the Fireman's Relief. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Mary Chronister; a brother, Clair Chronister, and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Dellinger and Mrs. Emma Deardorff, all of this city. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at his late residence. Interment will be made in Greenmount cemetery. C.A. Strack and Sons, funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements."
