Isabella was born at
Angouleme, France, circa 1188. She was the daughter of
Aymer Taillefer Count of Angouleme and
Alice de Courtenay. At the age of 14, Isabella was betrothed to Hugh "le Brun" de Lusignan. However in England, King John dissolved his marriage his own marriage to Isabella of Gloucester and Isabella of Angouleme's betrothral was broken. She married
King of England John I Lackland (?) at
Bordeaux, France, on 24 August 1200. Isabella of Angoulême (?) Queen of England married
Count de la Marche Hugh "le Brun" de Lusignan X in 1216 at
Angouleme, France. Isabella died on 31 May 1246 at
Fontevraud Abbey, Fontevraud, France. Her body was interred in June 1246 at
Fontevraud, France, at Fontevraud Abbey.
