John was born at
Lower Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, on 6 December 1857. He was the son of
Michael Dellinger and
Susan Fry. He married
Emaline Snyder at
York Co., Pennsylvania. John was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at
Hellam Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania. He was New Tag Obituary from a 16 September 1937 newspaper:
"J.H. DELLINGER NEAR STONY BROOK, DIES IN 80TH YEAR
Stony Brook, Sept. 16 - John Henry Dellinger, retired farmer, died at 5:10 p.m. today at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dellinger, near here. Death was caused by a complication of diseases, following an illness of about six months. Mr. Dellinger was age 79 years, nine months and ten days.
He was born in Lower Windsor township, near East Prospect, the son of the late Michael and Susan Dellinger. In March, 1934, he retired from farming. Mr. Dellinger was a member of the Fairmount Evangelical church. Surviving him, are two sons, Harry Dellinger, near here, and Walter Dellinger, Hallam R.D. 1; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Gantz, Conestoga, R.D. 1, Lancaster county; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Shue, Hallam, R.D. 1; and one brother, Samuel Dellinger, York R.D. 5.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at the Dellinger home at 1:30 p.m. with further services at the Fairmount Evangelical church. Rev. J.F. Rohrbaugh, pastor, will be the officiating minister. Burial will be made in the Highmount cemetery. Funeral Directors Edward Etzweller and Son, Wrightsville, have charge of arrangements."

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Sunday, September 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the late home and with further services in Fairmount Evangelical church. Interment in Highmount cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday evening at the Dellinger home from 7 to 9 o'clock."

"FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR JOHN DELLINGER NEAR STONY BROOK
Stony Brook, Sept. 19 - Funeral services for John Henry Dellinger, who died on Thursday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dellingler, near here, were held from the late home at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon with further obsequies at the Fairmount Evangelical church. The pallbearers were: John Grosh, Elmer Heindel, H.M. Mundis, Charles Leiphart, Wilbur Strickler and Albert Wallick. Rev. J.F. Rohrbaugh, pastor of the Hellam Evangelical charge, officiated. The body was interred in the Highmount cemetery."
