Melvin was born at
York, York Co., Pennsylvania, on 29 January 1927. He was the son of
Norman Cletus Dellinger and
Anna Knaub. Melvin died on 2 November 1991 at
York, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 64. He was New Tag Obituary from the Monday 4 November 1991 York Dispatch:
"Melvin C. Dellinger
Melvin C. Dellinger, 64, of Springettsbury Township, died at 4:31 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth (Ford) Dellinger.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dellinger was born in York. He was the son of Anna (Knaub) Dellinger of York, and of the late Norman C. Dellinger.
He was employed as a material specialist at Caterpillar Inc. for 22 years. He was a member of Second Church of the Brethren, of the National Rifle Association. He wa a life member of York Rifle Range, and belonged to Starview Sportsmen Club and Windsor Fish and Game Club and United Auto Workers Local Union 786.
Mr. Dellinger also is survived by two sons, Thomas C.M. Dellinger of Mechanicsburg, and Patrick K. Dellinger of York; a daughter, Lynne M. Sechrist of York; six grandchildren.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Glenn Grim, pastor of Fairview Church of the Brethren, and Rev. John Daya, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
