Robert S. Dellinger Sr. was born on 9 June 1923 at
Pleasureville, York Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of
Harry Wallace Dellinger and
Sadie Agnes Bahn. Robert S. Dellinger Sr. died on 24 December 1997 at

Shiloh - Robert S. Dellinger, Sr., 74, of Shiloh, died at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Gunnet) Dellinger. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 20.
The service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Road, Shiloh. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. The LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., 2290 School St., Shiloh, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dellinger was born June 9, 1923, in Pleasureville. He was the son of the late Harry and Sadie A. (Bahn) Dellinger.
He was a lead man in the packing department for Campbell Chain, retiring in 1986 after 39 years of service. After retiring he worked for York Township Recreation, serving in the lawn maintenance department. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, a life member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Shiloh Fire Company and Hawk's Gunning Club in Pleasureville. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Unit 28 in York and an associate member of Fraternal Order of Police.
Mr. Dellinger also is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. Glatfelter of York; three granddaughters; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Dellinger was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Dellinger, Jr., who died Feb. 28, 1989.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. David E. Roe.
