Hardin Harston Dillinger was born in 1801 at
Shenandoah Co., Virginia; According to Lucille Dillinger Alexander in "Dillinger, Crane, Cleeton, Beck families of Sullivan Co., Missouri and their ancestors" Hardin Harston Dillinger is the son of John Dillinger and Fanny May Wright of Virginia, either Shenandoah or Frederick Co. Lucille further states that John Dillinger was proably the son of another John Dillinger of Virginia.
In Lucille Alexander's book she states that Hardin H. Dillinger moved from Virginia, probably via Kentucky or Tennessee to Owen Co., Indiana where he married Mary Beck in 1830. They later moved onto Sullivan Co., Missouri.

John J. Dillinger and
Fanny May Wright. Hardin Harston Dillinger married
Mary "Polly" Beck, daughter of
James Beck and
Margaret Cannady, on 23 March 1830 at
Owen Co., Indiana. Hardin was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census at
Sullivan Co., Missouri. He died on 19 September 1890 at
Owasco, Sullivan Co., Missouri. He was buried in September 1890 at
Owasco Cemetery, Owasco, Sullivan Co., Missouri.
