     Adaline was born at Shelburn, Sullivan Co., Indiana, on 1 June 1849. She was the daughter of Samuel Douglas and Sarah Jewell. She married Elisha Albert Chesnut at Sullivan Co., Indiana, on 24 September 1864. Adaline died on 6 September 1938 at Fallis, Lincoln Co., Oklahoma, at age 89. Adeline Chesnut was born June 1st, 1849 at Shelburn, Ind. departed this life at two o'clock in the afternoon of Sept. 6th, 1938 at her home in Fallis, Okla. after a brief illness, age 89 years, 3 months and 5 days.

Adeline Douglas was united in marriage to Elisha Chesnut in 1865, to this happy union 6 sons and 5 daughters were born. 5 sons and 4 daughters are still living all of whom were with her at the time of her death except one daughter, Mina.
Elisha Chesnut, her husband preceded her in death, passed away on July 26th 1900. Jennie, the second daughter passed away on October 14, 1904. Harvey, the first son passed away on October 14th, 1935.
She leaves to mourn her loss, 4 daughters and 5 sons, 8 grandsons and 9 granddaughters. Lena Willeford of Edmond, Okla, Daisy Lindstrom of Cordell, Okla and Goldie Myers of Okla. Cith, the five sons Dot, Albert, Walter, Guy and Cleve all live in Oklahoma City except Dot who made his home with his mother at Fallis, Okla.
Many other relatives, friends and neighbors in Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana and Kentucky are left to mourn their loss.. Her body was interred in September 1938 at Guthrie, Logan Co., Oklahoma, at McKinley Cemetery.
