Johann was born at
Lower Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, on 5 March 1755. He was the son of
Hans Peter Dritt and
Anna Maria Barbara Dellinger. Johann Peter Dritt began military service. He married
Elizabeth LeFevre at
First Trinity Reformed Church, York, York Co., Pennsylvania, on 20 May 1777. Johann Peter Dritt was census 1790 in 1790 at
West Pennsborough Twp., Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania. He was census 1820 in 1820 at
West Pennsborough Twp., Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania. He was census 1830 in 1830 at
West Pennsborough Twp., Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania. Johann died on 24 February 1839 at
West Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania, at age 83. His body was interred in February 1839 at
Newville, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania, at Big Spring Presbyterian Cemetery. Johann Peter was first buried in the Lefevre Graveyard and later moved to Big Spring Presbyterian Cemetery.. He was New Tag Obituary from The American Volunteer:
"Another Revolutionary Veteran Gone!
DIED - on Sunday the 24th ult. at the advanced age of 84 years, Mr. Peter Tritt, sen. of West Pennsboro' township. The deceased was a soldier of the Revolution, having served his country faithfully in that memorable struggle, both as an enlisted soldier and as a militia man. He was honored and respected by all who knew him as an honest and industrious man and exemplary citizen. Shortly before his death he made a clear deed of a farm to each of his sons (eight in number), the earnings of a long life of industry and frugality." On 7 March 1839 at
