Andrew died on 26 December 1960 at Swedish Hospital, Seattle, King Co., Washington, at age 61. His body was interred on 30 December 1960 at Seattle, King Co., Washington, at Evergreen Cemetery. He was New Tag Andrew Frydenlund, 61, of 14340 Lenora Place, Seattle, died Monday evening, December 26, of a heart ailment. He was a trucking contractor for the Pioneer Sand and Gravel Co. where he had worked since 1927. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he went to Seattle from Devon, Montana in 1924. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and Seattle Aerie No. 1, Franternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his wife Mable, a son, Roy Willard Frydenlund, Seattle, his father Elmer Frydenlund, Devon, Five sisters, Mrs. Anne Epstein, Moses Lake, Washington, Mrs. Josephine Kennedy, Cut Bank, Montana, Mrs. Mary Nelson and Mrs. Daisy Loomis, Shelby, Mrs. Mae Kossel, Chester, Montana, two brothers, Russell and George, both of Devon, and two grandchildren. Services were held Friday at 3 p.m. in Middelstadt's Ballard Chapel in Seattle with burial in Evergreen. Attending services from Devon were George and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Frydenlund. At Seattle, King Co., Washington.

Helovard Svedrup "Elmer" Frydenlund (M)
b. 8 August 1876, d. 7 December 1967

     From Toole Co Supt of Schools-Homestead days in MT (this book I found in the library in Shelby MT) Doolittles built Frydenlund's house in 1912 Elmer Frydenlund came to Montana in 1906, he worked for the government digging ditches in Yellowstone Valley. Here he worked for six months then returned to North Dakota. In 1908 he moved to Devon. He built a home in1909 consisting of four rooms, two upstairs and two downstairs. The house measured twenty by sixteen. Later he built a barn and grain bin. From Devon he purchased the lumber and spikes and nails in Shelby. When his wife came in 1911 he had eight horses, eight cows and household goods freighted out in five or seven boxcars. In 1910 he worked in a Saloon, he gave this work up in 1911 so he could work on a farm. The branding iron is upside down triangle, lazy F(F laying down) and a upside down U or maybe a upside down horseshoe. reg mark C-RS H-RS My grandmother took care of the sick and delivered babies since the nearest doctor was in Shelby. He leased 1629 acres in 1911. Due to the dry years following he sold hay, with this money he bought forty head of horses. He shipped the horses to Minnesota. With the profits he would buy seed grain and hay for the cattle. Coal was haled from West Butte, there he would stay over night, returning the next day with his six horse team. This part of the coutry in 1911 was Hill County, it wasn't until 1913 Toole County got its start. Rodeos were held on the Marias and in Galata. He broke horses at these rodeos and took part in the shooting matches. In 1915 he got his first car, gasoline could be bought anywhere. from SS records SS# 517-05-9083. Helovard was born at Aurdal, Norway, on 8 August 1876. Helovard immigrated, in 1888. Destination: an unknown place . He married Lillie Moss at Sioux City, Woodbury Co., Iowa, on 10 August 1899. Helovard was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at Woodbury Co., Iowa. Helovard died on 7 December 1967 at Toole Co. Nursing Home, Shelby, Toole Co., Montana, at age 91. His body was interred in December 1967 at Shelby, Toole Co., Montana, at Sunset Memorial.
