Johann was born at
Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1739. He was the son of
Johann Philip Gohn and
Maria Sophia Bracher. He married
Anna Elisbetha Dellinger at
Pennsylvania in June 1766. He married
Elizabeth Oberdorff at
York Co., Pennsylvania, in 1782. Johann Philip Gohn was tax roll in 1783 at
Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania; Appears in the 1783 Tax List of Windsor Twp. with 43 acres. Also show is Widow Gohn, possibly his mother, with 250 acres. Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania. He left a will on 3 July 1806 at
York Co., Pennsylvania; York County Book M p. 236 probated Apr. 22, 1811 made July 3, 1806.
Gives to beloved wife Elizabeth land of 105 acres plus 10 acres of woodland and spring, garden plot, house cock, bed and bestead, blantes, copper kettle, 6 pewter plates, 6 pewter spoons, pewter dish and large platter and iron port.
Yearly 10 busherls of rye, 5 busels of wheat, and a fat hog of about 100
pounds. Also half dozen bed sheets, and half dozen table clothes, eight pounds of wool, 15 lbs of hankled flax. 15 lbs of raw flax. Also 1/3 of estate which goes to kids after her death. Son Henry gets bed and bedstead after wife dies, is to be sen 18 months to German school. Son Jacob gets equal share of estate.
Son Jacob, d. Sophia (m. Adam Osthost?) get equal shares. Son George gets share plus 4 lbs lawful money. dau. Elizabeth (m. Henry Geibhardt), s. John,
s. Henry all get equal shares.
His estate was probated on 22 April 1811 at
