Rulon was born at
Hobbs, Tipton Co., Indiana, on 25 August 1915. He was the son of
George S. Hartley Sr. and
Carrie Carr. Rulon died on 6 January 1999 at

RULON CARR HARTLEY
Elwood - Rulon Carr Hartley, 83 of Elwood died Wednesday, Jan. 6. 1999, at St. Vincent-Mercy Hospital in Elwood.
Mr. Hartley was a lifelong farmer, fur buyer and was a school bus driver for Tipton and Elwood schools for 23 years. He helpe manage Hartley & Sons Canning Co. in Tipton Co., for many years.
He was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Hobbs, the son of George Hartley, Sr. and Carrie (Carr) Hartley.
He was married to Juanita Doggett in 1949. She survives.
Mr. Hartley was a member of Farm Bureau, a member and elder of Hobbs Christian Church and a Sunday school superintendent.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brenda Recobs of Carmel; three sons, Steve Hartley of Tipton, Mike Hartley of Tiptong and Bill Hartley of Elwood; a brother Lee Hartley of Marion, Ind; a sister, Sarah Lou Jennings of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Carrie Hartley, Michell Hartley, Jesse Mae Hartley, Adam Hartley and Eric Hartley; one great grandson, Cody Hartley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harrison Hartley, George Hartley, Jr., Walter Hartley and Ray Hartley, and four sisters, Mildred Miller, Alice Cole, Evelyn McElfresh and Mary Catherine Hartley.
Calling will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Revs. Joe Coffin and Jim Glover officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.. His body was interred on 9 January 1999 at
Tipton, Tipton Co., Indiana, at Fairview Cemetery.
