     Artus Oretus Kauffman was born circa 1887 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of Hamilton D. Kauffman and Barbara Lecrone. Artus Oretus Kauffman married Beatrice Belle Dellinger, daughter of Daniel Ziegler Dellinger and Emma Jane Miller, on 31 August 1917 at York Co., Pennsylvania; Marriage announcement from an undated Gazette newspaper:

"RED LION

(Special to the Gazette.)

RED LION, Aug 31. - Prof Artus Oreatus Kauffman, and Miss Beatrice Dellinger, of this place, were married this evening at 8:30 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Matthews, where the bride has made her home. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M.R. Fleming, Ph.D., pastor of Bethany United Brethren church. The ring ceremony was observed. Prof. Kauffman was a former teacher in the local school, and at the present time is a member of the faculty of the High school of Warriors Mark, Huntingdon county, where the couple will make their home following a wedding tour. They will leave tomorrow."

     Augustine Kauffman was born on 3 October 1717 at Hasslock, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He married Anna Catherine Hatzenboehlerin at Ottersheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, on 17 November 1739. Augustine Kauffman immigrated on 2 October 1741; Augustine immigrated to America on October 2, 1741. He began military service on 9 February 1756. He died in 1818 at Shenandoah Co., Virginia.
