William was born at
York, York Co., Pennsylvania, on 6 October 1920. William died on 1 September 1994 at
his home, Wrightsville, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 73. Obituary from the 3 September 1994 York Daily Record:
"Wrightsville - William "Bud" D. Lavetan, 73, of Wrightsville, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday at his home.
The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home Inc., 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville. Burial will be in Highmount Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lavetan was born Oct. 6, 1920, in York. He was the son of the late William and Carrie (White) Lavetan and stepson of the late Horace Emig.
He was a parts welder/assembler at the former Borg/Warner, retiring in 1982 after 18 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 469, the Wrightsville Social Club, the Seagrave Club, the Kreutz Creek Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7045, the Columbia Loyal Order of Moose and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was a lifelong supporter of the Wrightsville Baseball Team in the York County Susquehanna League.
Mr. Lavetan is survived by three sons, Larry Lavetan and Jon Lavetan, both of York, and Tom Lavetan of Wrightsville; three daughters, Sandra Hinds of Wrightsville, Teresa Dellinger of Hellam, and Sonja Mittel of York; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a twin sister, Mary Miller of Wrightsville.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kevin E. Bruck, pastor of Fairmount United Methodist Church.
