Samuel McKee was born circa 1746. He emigrated in December 1772 from
Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina; According to "Scotch Irish Migration to South Carolina, 1772" by Dr. Jean Stephenson, published in 1971, Samuel McKee arrived in Charleston, South Carolina in Dec. 1772, aboard the ship "Pennsylvania Farmer" lately from Ireland. The "Pennsylvania Farmer" sailed from Belfast on 16 Oct. 1772.
A Samuel McKee petitioned for 100 acres of land on the north side of the Broad River on a small branch 4 feet wide and 4 inches deep. Is this my Samuel McKee? He married
Jennet McCullough, daughter of
(?) McCullough and
Jennet Neal. Samuel McKee died on 1 October 1808 at
South Carolina. He was buried in October 1808 at
Hopewell ARP Cemetery, Chester Co., South Carolina.
