Windsor, July 5 - Mrs. Sophia, wife of George W. Markel, died at her residence at this place Saturday at 1 a.m. after a long illness of cancer. She was aged 68 years, 9 months and 14 days. She is survived by her husband, and the following children: Emory, Lancaster county; Curvin, at home; Amos, of Elizabethtown, Pa; Clyde, of York; Mrs. Mary Landis, Wrightsville, R.D. 2; Mrs. Ida Knisely, this place; Mrs. Nora Oberdorff, this place and Martha, at home and also the following brothers and sisters: Adam, Benjamin and Reuben Paules, Windsor; John Paules, Columbia; Moses Paules, Wrightsville; Jacob Paules, Red Lion; Mrs. Michael Dellinger, Red Lion; Mrs. Holtzinger, Red Lion; Mrs. Frank Crumbling, Windsor, and Ida and Alice Paules, Windsor. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 3:30 o'clock, for the Markel residence. Further services will be held in the Locust Grove Union church. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery."

"FORMER R.D. CARRIER W.H. PAULES DIES

Had Suffered For Six Years From Paralysis Of Legs

Red Lion, June 20. - William Henry Paules, died this afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. He was 47 years, 2 months and 17 days old. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with services at the house, after which the funeral cortege will proceed to Emanuel cemetery, where interment will be made. Surviving him besides his wife is one son, Curtis E. Paules, Clerk in the First National bank, and eleven brothers and sisters: Jacob Paules, this town; Moses Paules, Wrightsville; John Paules, Columbia, Pa; Adam Paules, Benjamin Paules, Mrs. Frank Crumbling, Mrs. George Markel, Ida Paules and Alice Paules, Windsor; Mrs. John Holtzinger and Mrs. Annie Dellinger, Red Lion. Mr. Paules had served as rural mail carrier out of the local post office for many years when he was obliged to discontinue the work six years ago. This is thought was due to his continous riding in the mail wagon."

On 20 June 1923. He died on 20 June 1923 at Red Lion, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 47.
