Duke of York Richard Plantagenet (M)
b. August 1473
Pop-up Pedigree

Duke of York Richard Plantagenet was born in August 1473 at Shrewsbury, Stanton, Shropshire, England. He was the son of King of England Edward Plantagenet IV and Elizabeth Woodville. According to William Shakespeare, Edward and his younger brother Richard where murdered by their uncle Richard, who then became Richard the Third. However the mystery of what really happened to the two young Princes still continues with some scholars believing that Richard killed them, and other scholars who think otherwise. There is even a certain following that states that the young Princes were not murdered, but rather spirted out of England to protect them from Henry VI.
