"Springettsbury Township - Ralph A. Platts, 70, deid at 8:13 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the Margaret M. (Schroeder) Platts.

The service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wm. J. Workinger Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family following cremation. Viewing will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Platts was born July 1, 1924, in York. He was a son of the late Reynolds S. and Margaret S. (Kinard) Platts.

He retired as a printer from the York Dispatch in 1988 after 70 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations, and a 1942 William Penn graduate. He also was a member of Kreutz Creek Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7045, the Thirteenth Ward Political Club, York Moose Lodge No. 148.

Mr. Platts also is survived by a son, Rick A. Platts of Manchester; two daughters, Catherine E. Shelley of Millsboro, Del., and Sandra Dellinger of Brogue; five grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Raffensperber of York.
