"Sudden Death Of Ulysses Rinehart
Retired Painter And Auctioneer Drops Dead In Cellar After Fixing Furnace Fire
Ulysses Grant Rinehart, retired painter and auctioneer, dropped dead in the cellar at his home, 51 North Newberry street, at 2:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the result of a heart attack. He was aged 76 years.
Mr. Rinehart had been cutting grass in the yard at the rear of his house and then went to the cellar to fix the furnance fire. His wife heard the noise of his fall. She went to the cellar and found her husband unconscious. Dr. E.S. Stambaugh, under whose care the aged man had been for some time, was summoned, but found that life was extinct. Dr. L.U. Zech, coroner, was summoned and he issued the death certificate.
Mr. Rinehart was a member of Manchester lodge, Junior Order United American Mechanics and of St. Matthew's Lutheran church. He worked as a painter and an auctineer for many years, and conducted sales in many places in the course of his activity. For several years he operated an auction room at Philadelphia and Hartley streets. He retired about five years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Rinehart: three children, Mrs. Charles Dellinger, 1314 West Market stree; Mrs. Charles Miller, Dover R.D. 2; and Edgar Rinehart, 1286 West Princess street; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and a brother, Charles Rinehart, Dover R.D. 2.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the A.F. Koller Funeral home, 1415 West Market street. Rev. Dr. J.B. Baker, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church will conduct the services. Interment will be in Greenmount cemetery."
