He was move circa 1872 at England; In about 1872, John Baynes with his family, returned to England. He immigrated in 1875; In 1875 he and his family emigrated to the United States.

     John was born at Woodhall Park, Wensleydale, Yorkshire, England, on 28 May 1771. He was the son of John Baynes and Frances Beezon. He married Miriam Priestman at Pardshaw Meeting, England, in 1780. Upon the death of his father, John Beezon Baynes inherited Woodhall Park. In 1818 he sold the family farm to Christopher Alderson and prepared to move to America, which he did in the following year. He was the father of immigrant Beezon Baynes, Thomas Baynes, Frances Baynes, John Baynes, James Baynes and Joseph Priestman Baynes in 1819. John died in 1847 at Wilmington, New Castle Co., Delaware.
