Margie is believed to have suffered from a childhood disease that affected her mentality. She lived with her parents until they died, and afterwards lived with various family members until she was institutionalized and put under the care of the state in September 1939 at the Muscatatuck Mental Health School.
Margaret was born at
Washington Twp., Washington Co., Indiana, on 6 July 1887. She was the daughter of
Thomas Priestman Baynes and
Rebecca Roberts Powell. Margaret "Margie" Lowry Baynes and
Thomas Priestman Baynes lived in November 1935; Thomas Baynes and his daughter Margie lived with Thomas' son, Joseph from Nov. 1935 to March 1936. She resided in March 1936. Margie lived with her sister Helen from March 1936 to September 1939.. Margaret died on 29 November 1959 at
Muscatatuck Mental Health School, Vernon, Jennings Co., Indiana, at age 72. Her body was interred in December 1959 at
Salem, Washington Co., Indiana, at Crown Hill Cemetery.
