Catherine was born at
Germantown, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, on 30 June 1814. She was the daughter of
Emanuel Spangler and
Barbara Wolheim. She married
John Hartley at
Pennsylvania on 29 June 1834. She migrated with
John Hartley in 1848. According to a 1866 Map of Hamilton Co., John Hartley owned 160 acres of land just east Millersburg, which is Jackson Twp., in White River Twp.. Catherine was listed as a household member living with
John Hartley on the 1850 Census at
White River Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana. Catherine was listed as a household member living with
John Hartley in the 1860 Census at
White River Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana. Catherine was listed as a household member living with
John Hartley on the 1870 Census at
White River Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana. Catherine died on 23 November 1900 at
White River Twp., Hamilton Co., Indiana, at age 86. Her body was interred in November 1900 at
Arcadia, Hamilton Co., Indiana, at Dunkard Cemetery at the Church of the Brethren.
