"WRIGHTSVILLE - Mary Dellinger, 86, formerly of Wrightsville, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday at York County Hospital and Home. She was the wife of the late Barton Dellinger. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home Inc., 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1907, in Columbia. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McBride) Stroock.

Mrs. Dellinger is survived by nieces and nephews.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas L. White, chaplain at the York County Hospital and Home." On 12 July 1994.

     Matthais Stroope was Matthias was an ironmaster, as were some of his descendants. He was born circa 1660 at Westphalia, Germany. He immigrated on 10 October 1684 to Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania; Matthias sailed between Europe and America at least 6 times. The first time he arrived in Philadelphia on 10 October 1684 aboard the ship "Shield." He lived briefly in Germantown, Pennsylvania before he returned to Germany. He arrived for the second time in 1687 aboard the ship "Endeavor of Stockton" at a port in Maryland. He married Hanna (?). Matthais Stroope died circa 1740 at High Shoals, Gaston Co., North Carolina.
