Charles was born at
South Carolina on 3 June 1817. He was the son of
John Weir and
Jennet Strong. He bought property at
Monroe Co., Indiana, on 13 January 1840. He married
Eliza Strong at
Monroe Co., Indiana, on 19 March 1840. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Charles died on 12 July 1898 at
Monroe Co., Indiana, at age 81. His body was interred in July 1898 at
Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana, at United Presbyterian Cemetery. He was New Tag Obituary from the July 19, 1898 Bloomington Telephone:
"Charles Weir died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Strong, 5 miles west of the city on Tuesday morning of last week of old age. He was the father of Dr. R.M. Weir, John Weir who died recently, and of Mrs. Jennie Strong, with whom he made his home. He had been in feeble health for some time, and since spring had been unable to move about the house. He was 83 years old. He has been a faithful servant for the cause of the Lord for many years, being a member of the Presbyterian church since a boy. He leaves a wife, who has been his faithful nurse during his sickness, a daughter and son to mourn his loss. The funeral occured from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Strong, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and the remains were interred in Rose Hill."
He is actually buried in United Presbyterian Cemetery. On 19 July 1898 at
Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana.
