"Miss Rebecca Wimer
Miss Rebecca Wimer, 89 years old, died last night at a local hospital following a recent fall and a broken hip. During infancy Miss Wimer lost her sense of hearing and she never learned to speak. The family developed a sign language by means of which they communicated. Since the death of her sister, Harriet, about a year ago, no one has been able to converse with her. Being aged and frail her welfare had been a problem to her friends. She had no near relatives, but Miss Vida Graham has seen to her comfort, and during most of the period Mrs. Carrie Conzett nursed her.
Miss Wimer was a member of Second Presbyterian church, faithfully attending worship services with her sister, on whom she had always been dependent, until the latter's death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 at the Walker mortuary. Rev. Anthony P. Landgraf will conduct the services and interment will be made in City cemetery." On 26 April 1944 at
