WAYLAND - Thelma M. Johnson, 82, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 27 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

Thelma was born March 3, 1917 in Conesus, a daughter of Allen and Jennie (Snyder) Sylvester. She was predeceased by her husbands Charles Allen and Clifford Johnson and a brother, Elston Sylvester. She was a former employee of the Westinghouse Corp. in Bath.

Thelma was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church. She was an exceptional homemaker and enjoyed knitting, sewing and baking for family, friends, neighbors and the fire department.

She is survived by four cousins, Clara and Asa Spencer of Wayland, Norma and Andy Lonthair of Rush, Marian Faires of Rochester, and Ann and Robert Shull of Dansville; many great cousins; her housemate and dear friend, Marjorie Herington of Wayland; and many friends and neighbors.

Friends called 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday with the Rev. Osceola W. Wharton officiating. Burial will be in Erwin Cemetery, Springwater.
