Where Do I Begin??
I was born in Jefferson Co. New York,
but now I realize that was not my beginning.
I became interested in Genealogy as a teenager.
I would listen to all the older family members as they would talk of their youth.
I found this to be so fascinating I could sit for hours and listen. My grandmother Vincent
for one then Flora King, Helen Holliday, & Nancy Dixon just to name a few others.
As I grew up and married, had children of my own there was little time for listening to any stories but the little one's that they told.
Then one day I found that they also had grown up and I was the one telling stories.
And I thought they will never remember all that I can tell them.
So I began to gather in all that I could and write it down so in time
it would not be lost or forgotten.
I thought at first this won't take long. I will be able to complete this soon enough.
I have now found after years of search and research that my work with genealogy will never be completed.
There will always be a mystery person waiting somewhere to be found
and added to my growing tree now filled with lots of golden leaves.
I can't think of anything that has caught my interest as much as finding all the people who helped make me who I am today.
And finding a LOVE for people
I can only get to know Through a picture, a letter, a diary entry or even an obit. Once you start to search you can never stop.
I added this to my facebook page today... I work on genealogy. I will give all of you a fair warning. Yes, I will hunt down family, I will snoop on your pages, I will steal your photo's, keep some of what you post, ask you personal questions like where were you born, when did your great grandparents die and where are they buried, I have a burning desire to know all the details. You don't even have to be close family because I will even hunt down non - family members once I get started. I can go all the way back to the kings and queens of England to the beginning of time, So beware. I have a strong addiction that I have no intentions of trying to cure.
Charles Victor Halliday and his bride Isabelle Mae Bamford. They were married Feburary 12, 1884.

Arrive as a Stranger Leave as Family
Why have a Moye Reunion 2013
Several years ago Donald Moye, a grandson of James Henry Moye, son of Richard and Lucinda, held Moye Reunions in Georgia and Florida . Due to health issues, the reunions stopped.
Some of Richard and Lucindas children lived in or around the De Soto and Hardee Counties of Florida ; a lot are buried in the area, as well as Lucinda. Therefore, what better place to kick-off our family reunion than Ona , Florida ?
Randall, Ronnie, and Mark Moye graciously offered their Moye Barn for 2013 Moye Family Reunion. Randall, Ronnie, and Mark Moye are connected through George and Amelia Bratcher Moye. George Moye son of Richard and Lucinda
Ida Durden, your point of contact, is connected through William Matthew and Ida Lovey Strickland Moye. William Matthew son of Richard and Lucinda.
Without you the 2013 Moye Reunion will not be successful.
Please provide your best contact information.

I guess this also could be called my wish list. I have stories and pictures of Marietta Holley who was a famous author from Jefferson Co.
and my sister has some of the buttons from a dress of hers that a niece of hers gave my mother once.
I would like to add a section on famous people and noted things from Jefferson Co.
My family at one time were caretakers in the Brown Mansion in Brownville,
my aunts first husband was a Fillmore and a descendant of President Fillmore.
At one time she owned a Tyler coverlet which was donated to a museum.I have tons of old
pictures, diaries, poems,Wills to name a few things to add. If I could make one wish it would be for someone to help with the
transcribing of some of these things it does take a lot of time.If you have anything to add let me know and I will add it.
